In one day my family of four leaves to Europe. It’s our first family adventure to Italy. I am so excited to go back to Europe. It’s been 9 years since I last travelled to Europe. Yet, this time I’m not backpacking Europe, I am bringing a family. Wow, life has changed!

Our family is traveling to Italy and specifically to the Tuscany Region. We rented out a villa for a week in Tuscany, close by Siena. The reason we picked this area is because my mom is turning 60 and our entire family decided to celebrate her birthday in one of her favourite spots in Europe. So needless to say, this is going to be one fun celebration.

I created my own itinerary to ensure I see all the beautiful villages in the area. Take a look here to see what I have planned for my two weeks Italy adventure.

Days 1 & 2: Explore Florence

Days 3 & 4: Travel to Arezzo, but stop at one of the famous Chianti region wineries. Followed by the next day, checking into our Villa.

Day 5: Enjoy a full day at the Villa, pool time with the family.

Day 6: Visit Montepulciano. One of the most attractive hillside towns in the Tuscan region. Its well know for it’s two famous wines, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Rosso di Montepulciano. I’ll be sure to take some home with me!

Day 7: Visit Pienza. It’s knows for its beautiful Renaissance architecture and its along the famous “love road”. Where all those amazing, romantic hillside pictures are taken.

Day 8: Family biking day to explore whats around the Villa.

Day 9: Visit Monticchiello. This little village is surrounded by an ancient wall that sits on top of a steep hill. It’s a scenic beauty.

Day 10: Visit Siena. The heart of Tuscany is the medieval city of Siena. I am so excited to see this city!

Day 11: Check out day – Villa
 – This day we are travelling back to Florence for one night, but first we have a few stops. We plan to see the towns of Monteriggioni and San Gimignano. Just a few of the top tourist attractions in the Tuscan region.
